George Lawson

Oakland painter George Lawson has begun blogging. He is posting images of paintings and drawings from the past couple of years or so, when he began introducing recognizable imagery into his work. A recent post, “Open Image“, explores “Jung’s psychology of function-types distinguishes four modes by which the personality apprehends the world: thinking, feeling, intuition and sensation,” and begins:

I use the term Open Image to describe an approach to painting that accepts as a matter of course the unpredictability of viewers’ responses.
